Galleries and museums are finally opening after what feels like a lifetime and there’s no doubt we all need them so much.
Online exhibitions and gallery events have been great and we artists are very grateful to all of those that have worked so hard to make these events possible and to keep our artistic spirits up during the pandemic. However you just can’t beat a physical exhibition, seeing other people, chatting, viewing art in the flesh, smiling, frowning, concentrating, mingling, so many emotional reactions and experiences we have all missed recently.
There are some fantastic exhibitions coming up which I’m sure will be fully booked in no time, if not already! Some of my tips for the best exhibitions to get yourselves to would be of course Hockney’s, ‘The Arrival of Spring, Normandy 2020’ at the Royal Academy as always pretty sure Hockney will deliver a fantastic show full of his optimism for life and the ever changing nature around us, an exhibition to motivate and inspire which is something I think we will all find refreshing and very much needed.
Another experience we surely can’t miss is the amazing Van Gogh Alive event in Kensington Gardens from June 4th, which claims to be the ‘most visited multi sensory experience in the world’ https://vangoghaliveuk.com/ – this does sound like something we should all try and experience, they promise to let us step into Van Gogh’s paintings, something it feels like we can’t miss.
So these are a few of my suggestions and highlights of exhibitions coming up which hopefully we can all try and get to and appreciate the joy of art, something so many of us have missed and undoubtedly the power of art to help mental health and wellbeing is something that is always so important.
I will also be exhibiting in the “Elevate 03 Contemporary Exhibition” , launching on 23rd April at The Shard in London. Keep tuned in for further details on this great exhibition at a truly stunning location!
